Tips to make computer networks (LAN / Local Area Network)

Computer network? What is the network? we often hear, but sometimes, that we know only a little. Can we logic like tissues in the body (tissue). in our bodies, every device that is connected to each other, with the functions to work together, although each peripheral has its own function. A system of computer networks say if there is a single computer model that serves all computing tasks an organization has been replaced by a collection of numerous computers that would separate but interrelated in performing their duties.
Another definition of a computer network is a collection of computers, printers and other equipment connected in a unity. Information and data moving through wires or wirelessly, allowing the computer network users can exchange documents and data, print on the same printer, and together using hardware / software to connect to the network.

Computer Network Benefits:

1. Resource Sharing, can use existing resources in together. For example a user is located 100 km away from the data, does not have difficulty in using these data, as if the data is located nearby. This often means that the computer network problems mangatasi distance.

2. High reliability, with our computer network will have high reliability with a sumbersumber alternative supplies. For example, all files can be saved or copied to two, three or more computers connected kejaringan. So if one machine breaks, then the copy on another machine can be used.

3. Save money.
Small computer has in size ratio price / performance is better than a big computer. Large computers such as mainframes have speed approximately ten times the speed of a small computer / personal. However, the price of mainframe thousand times more expensive than personal computers. Imbalance ratio price / performance and speed of this makes the system designer to build a system consisting of
personal computers.

Steps:

To create a small computer network (LAN), there are some equipment and materials we need such as:

1. Cramping pliers
2. Lan Tester
3. UTP cable (unshielded Twisted Pair) / Coaxial (seldom used)
4. RJ45 Connector / coaxial cable connector
5. Switch-Hub
6. 2 min PCs (Personal Computer) with LAN Card, or NIC (Network Interface Card)

Then we determine the order of UTP cable will be used in accordance with its function. suppose if we want to connect directly from PC-PC, we use the Cross, if we connect to the switch-hub first, PC - HUB, then we use the STRAIGHT. if we want to connect 2 LAN HUB-HUB then we use the CROSS, we can also use the STARIGHT if there is one hub uplink port.

to facilitate in order to memorize the cable, we can use one of the ways that I use, namely
STRAIGHT -> OBHC if CROSS -> HBOC.

STRAIGHT -> OBHC

O -> white-orange - orange

B -> white green - blue

H -> blue white - green

C -> white chocolate - chocolate

CROSS -> HBOC

H -> white green - green

B -> white-orange - blue

O -> white-blue - orange

C -> white chocolate - chocolate

if you have another way please apply, not be like above. then please each end tested using lan tester. if the light as expected, then you have succeeded in the process of cramping. please lan card installed in your PC.

to set the IP so that we think about is how no group IP that is used on your LAN. usually for the local network using IP group 172.17.XX, 192.168.XX 202.168.XX or 10.10.XX for the local network, the minimal set is:

IP address: 192.168.1.2 (example)

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 (example)

for the default gateway to your content if you want to connect your local network with external networks (both other local network or the internet). for the DNS server will you fill if you are connected to the Internet. DNS server depends on the rules set by the provider,

if you've set no IP, you can check whether your computer can communicate with other computers, ie by running the ping command at a command, such as:
ping 192.168.1.3
(This command produces 4 times the response), to continually provide our response attributes add-t (trace),
as:
ping 192.168.1.3-t

Response provided there are 3 kinds:

1. reply from ....
Your computer can communicate with your destination computer.

2. request time out ....
network connection there is a problem with your destination computer. Check back connector!!

3. destination unreachable ....
your computer's network connection problems. Check again!!

It wrote that I can tell, I'm sorry if a lot of shortcomings.
