Corel Draw is a vector graphics editor created by Corel, a company based in Ottawa, Canada. The latest version of the 14 named X4 was released in 2008. CorelDRAW was originally developed to run on Windows 2000 and newer. Version of CorelDRAW for Linux and Mac OS ever developed, but was stopped because of low sales levels.
CorelDRAW X4 version has a new look and some new applications that are not there on previous versions of CorelDRAW. Some of the latest applications available, including Quick Start, Table, Smart Drawing Tool, Save as template, and so forth.
Basic Facilities CorelDRAW X4
Quick Start
First time CorelDRAW X4 software is activated, the system will display the welcome dialog box. In this dialog box, note that the process can be activated, namely:
• Quick start: This application can help to make it easier to prepare the new graphic design or graphic design modification ever made before.
• what's new: an application to inform the new facility provided on the software CorelDRAW X4.
• learning tools: tools that facilitate user learning CorelDRAW software facilities provided.
• gallery: gallery used to visit the CorelDRAW user community site. At these sites there are a variety of professional graphic design using CorelDRAW software.
• updates: the application used to visit the official website CorelDRAW software for various purposes. One of them, that is to update the system model of CorelDRAW.
Hints
Hints are on the right side of the main dialog box systems. This facility provides a clue what and how to process an object picture / text.
Menu Bar
Menu Bar located at the top of the main dialog box systems. CorelDRAW X4 menu system using the standard Windows operating system that is very easy to use.
Standard Toolbar
Standard toolbar is located below the menu bar. On the standard toolbar, the system quickly put the symbol of the process. For example there are symbols such as a folder to open a CorelDRAW graphics data.
Property Bar
Property bar is an additional facility that appears after selecting one of the tools in the toolbox facility. The objective is to facilitate the use of facilities selected toolbox. Property bar is usually located under the standard toolbar.
Toolbox
Toolbox usually located at the far left. The system put most of the tools the drawing objects / text on the toolbox facilities. Crease signal system at the bottom right side of the facility means that subalat toolbox. To display a list subalat can be done by clicking and holding the corresponding symbol tools.
Status Bar
The system put the information on the status line located on the underside of the main dialog box. Such information regarding the object image / text and / or equipment selected process.
Color Palette
Color palette or color box located at the far right of the main dialog box. To give color to the object image / text simply click as usual. As for giving the color line, right-click on the selected color in the color box.
Dialogue Box
CorelDRAW system will put a number of options from the process of complex facilities on a dialog box. Facility in question can be arranged through the dialogue box. For example, changing the format of the image object to a bitmap vectors via the menu submenus convert bitmaps to bitmaps.
Docker
System dialog box put the number of facilities (considered) are often used in fixed form on the right side of the dialog box. This format is called the Docker. This facility buffer displayed via the menu submenu Docker window.
Fixed / Floating Toolbar
One feature of the system CorelDRAW X4, the toolbox features color box, the menu bar, standard toolbar, and / or the property bar can be moved and placed in any location.
Basic Operation
Object Line
In CorelDRAW X4 system, the object lines can be formed through the existing curve tool in the toolbox facilities. The facility subalat curve tool in the form of:

• dimension tool: This tool is used to form the vertical dimension lines, horizontal, diagonal, and so on. To form the horizontal dimension lines / vertical automatically, use the symbol aimension auto tool located at the left side of the property features a bar when the tool is active.
Object Image
In the CorelDRAW, various forms of image objects can be created. Here's a toolbox of useful features to form various objects image:
• rectangle tool: This tool can be used to form a rectangular object, or square.
• Ellipse tool: This tool is used to form the object circle / ellipse.
• object tool: This tool can facilitate / accelerate the process of forming a polygon objects, stars, spirals, and tables.
• perfect shape tool: This tool is used to form various objects specific images easily and quickly. For example, the object of a parallelogram, balloons, flowchart symbols, arrows, and so forth.
• table tool: This tool can be used to create tables in a square format or rectangle. These tables can be included not only the writing / text, but can also put images into it. This tool can be used to create postcards, brochures, and others.
Smart Drawing
Smart draw is that there is a new application in CorelDRAW X4. Smart drawing tool available on the smart tool can be used to form the object image from sketches.
Object Text
Text object is the element most often used in graphic design. Some make it a logo, artistic text, even changing the text object is the object image.
Text objects can be created through the text tool found on the toolbox. After that, the text object can be processed through the pick tools. Text objects can be processed to form a shadow, a 3D format, and others.
Being a 3D object 2D
CorelDRAW X4 has a facility to change the object syntax / 2D images into 3D. Facilities that can be used to form a 2D object into 3D is as follows:
• Extrude: the facilities are interactive toolbox Extrude tool in the tool interactive effects. Once activated, the 3D formats can be arranged through the presets available on the property bar facilities.
• bevel: to bevel an angle subalat of an object, image / text. Bevel will appear in the property bar after enabling interactive Extrude tool.
• contour: contour features in CorelDRAW X4 is provided to make a copy of an object image / text to the inside / outside. Contour can be used to create 3D effects from an object, image / text color by changing sides.
• gradation of color: shades can be formed using the fill tool, fill interactive tool, or the mesh fills.
• shadow effects: CorelDRAW provides the interactive drop shadow which is the interactive effects of subalat tool to create a shadow effect from the object image / text.
Color
Choice of colors in the color box. However, there are several ways to give color to the object image / text, is as follows:
• fill & outline: the toolbox facility, the system provides the fill tool to manage the contents of the object image / text. Meanwhile, to set its constituent lines, the system provides the outline tool.
• paintbucket & eyedropper tool: eyedropper tool is used to retrieve the color specifications or attributes (properties, transformation, and effects) of an object, image / text. After that, paintbucket use tool to copy data on the object images / other text.
• smart fill: the smart fill tool to fill color in any enclosed area. For example at the intersection of a particular object.
Artistic objects
Artistic objects can be text or images. By using a specific tool, an object of text / images can look different from the ordinary. Artistic object consists of:
• artistic lines (Object text): The artistic text can be created through artistic media tool available on the toolbox. Any text can be made for its use such as drawing or writing with a pen.
• artistic lines (object image): artistic images produced by artistic media tool is like a sketch image. Use the same artistic lines for text objects.
• distortion effects: CorelDRAW provides interactive tools Distort effects in the interactive tool. Distortion effects can be applied to the object image / text that can be more artistic.
• smudge brush (new object): through smudge brush tool, an object side of the picture can be drawn that will form a new image as you wish. Subalat can be accessed through the shape editing tool.
